The Sweatlodge Ceremony helps us to purify ourselves spiritually, mentally, and physically. It is felt by the Elders that by sweat and prayer in the Inipi (Sweat Lodge), we can clean our bodies of toxins, our minds of negativities, heighten our spirits, to come into a right relationship with ourselves and everything that surrounds us. Because it is an ancient, sacred ceremony, come in a humble way, and listen carefully to the one who is pouring the water in the lodge, or the lodge leader.
Chanupa Ceremony is conducted 4 times a year at Little Big Medicine in the center of the Sacred Circle around the Sundance Tree. Prayers and good words are offered and the Chanunpa is shared around the circle by all. There is Inipi (Sweatlodge) to purify before the Chanupa Ceremony.
